Umpire
Assessment of property damage in connection with a claim for insurance coverage is performed by a qualified appraiser. The appraisal process involves identification of the scope of damage and the costs for repairs.
Insurance contracts covering property damage loss routinely contain a provision for resolution of disagreements through an appraisal process appraiser assigned by insurance company and the policy holder’s appraiser by an Umpire.
The Umpire is a neutral third party agreed upon by the appraisers who examines the evidence and assessments from both appraisers to make a fair and impartial final decision on the damage and loss. The Umpire’s role is to professionally resolve disagreements between the insurance company and policy holder regarding the amount of loss and scope of damage. The cost for insurance umpiring services is typically allocated between the parties.
Our certified Umpires are experienced in all aspects of the appraisal process.
